Yes, Bill Gates certainly has a lot to answer for. He has certainly cost me a lot of money. But far more significant is the lost development in much of Asia for his continued insistence of maintaining a monopoly of the browser market in a non-IDN supporting form. The damage that he has done from this single act of neglect, probably far outweighs his well publicised acts of philanthropy. Lost development means lost lives. Microsoft, has effectively ensured that the development of the Internet in much of the world has been stunted for several years due to the lack of direct navigation. If Microsoft didn't exist, it is almost certain that direct navigation in Asian scripts would already be a reality.
