The term seems to fit better with a UK audience (Now why isn't that "an UK audience"... grammar nazis, help me!) based on my understanding of their idioms (limited, though it may be).
Nice potential (as David mentioned) for social networking, and the .us works for regional targetting, or perhaps as "Us" (As in "we", but in the form of a direct object).
$50 or so , with the only thing holding it back heavily is the multitude of other options available to an end user.
