No big deal, I'm just curious as I have one. I'm guessing it's probably because theres no real business, so to speak, with numbers in the middle of the letters...

I don't think that's true. I regged k1i.com because there are at least twenty or so businesses that start with K1, and the 'i' can mean inc., international, investments, etc.

I simply don't see end users going for them quite so much.

I am not saying they are all no good and I am sure that there will be some end users out there for letter number letter or number letter number - I simply prefer letter number number or letter letter number.
