Considering there are ~1.7 million of them, and that LLLL.com were just recently sold out, my guess would be a lot!

Ok, thanks. ;)

Excluding NNNN.com and LLLL.com domains, I think I remember an estimate I made of around 82% available but don't quote me on it. As can be seen in this forum section the hyphenated L-LL.com and LL-L.com appear to the most popular type of CCCC.com that haven't been bought out.

First, welcome to Namepros as I see this is your first month here.

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question, however maybe the table below will help. It's a rough draft I made a while back and not terribly accurate, for example, a few times I multiplied numbers by 9 instead of 10 (I forgot to count 0.) However, it will give you an idea of how may CCCC domains there are. From my own research I know that just about every "good" 3 letter word like buy with a number has been registered as well as lots of the better number/letter combinations like A123.com which happens to be a game site.

4 LETTER DOMAINS
N--N = 100 <-----------All Registered
L--N = 260 <-----------All Registered
N--L = 260 <-----------All Registered
N-NN = 999 <-----------All Registered
NN-N = 999 <-----------All Registered
NNNN = 9999 <-----------All Registered
LL-L = 17,576 <---------About 6,000 Left
L-LL = 17,576 <---------About 6,000 Left
LNNN = 26,000
NLNN = 26,000
NNLN = 26,000
NNNL = 26,000
NNLL = 67,600
NLLN = 67,600
LLNN = 67,600
LNNL = 67,600
NLLL = 175,760
LNLL = 175,760
LLNL = 175,760
LLLN = 175,760
LLLL = 456,976 <--------All Registered

CCVC = 40,000 With Y 48,000 <--------All Registered
CCCV = 40,000 With Y 48,000 <--------All Registered
CCCC = 160,000 (0 Vowels) <--------All Registered
Total number of all premium combinations (no j,k,q,u,v,w,x,y,z): 83,521

If you do decide to invest in CCCC domains I'd recommend the L-LL domains as they are in a class by themselves. People whom invest in L-L-L.coms' don't really consider themselves to be CCCCC.coms because they are so rare and were all registered before the LLLL.coms. Further, if you look at the L-L.com domains ($2450+), they are worth 10 times more than the LNN.coms($250+). Last, I should warn you that although the L--L are very rare, it may be a while before they catch on as the public is not used to seeing domains with double dashes. The only one I know of is A--I.com which cleverly turns the double dash into a plus sign in their logo.

Although I could give you rough estimates, I believe that the people in the L-L-L.com thread here in the short domain section would be able to answer that question better and any others you have as they've been following these very closely. You should also visit Bluebecker.com as he has done an excellent job researching L-L-L.com domains and he is kind enough to post all of his information on his website.
