Hi community!
This is my first day here, and well....just want to say before anything Hello! to everyone and hope I can make some friends :)

My experience with web design and domains is limited therefore I need orientation. I always wanted to get into web design and become a developer , but bc of work I never had time :(, its been like 5 years and still haven't start lol, but this is why I have this domain and some others. All started with an idea and you know...just ideas. But its been sitting there and have no idea how much is worth or what can I do with it.

That's why I'm here, bc I want to start to be more active into web ideas and see if I can create some passive income. And also hoping to learn from you guys :)

What do you think about this domain?
Does it make sense? is it brandable?
How can I profit from it? or what options make sense

One day, like 2 years ago one guy from Europe contacted me offering me couple hundreds but I said no lol, then I noticed later that he bought the uk version.

anyway...your thoughts?

Umm, it makes no sense. 'Can Dogs'? What the heck does that mean?

Well the reason I'm asking is bc freevaluator.com says 2k. Maybe that site is wrong but I was just curious and will believe any of you :)

But does it worth zero? I mean is two words only domain, each word has a meaning on its own, "can" is another way to call dogs and dogs. Anyways you guys know better I guess :)

Automated appraisal sites are almost always wrong. And what the heck country do you live in? We don't call cats or dogs 'can' where I live. It makes no sense.

I think this is a decent domain for content development based on search volume for the phrase "can dogs ________ ?"

Looking at Google Trends against other strong terms, for example "dog food", this phrase is incredibly common and popular. Ubersuggest.io turns up a definite list of exact landing page phrases around the question "can dogs... ?" With strong landing pages around simple questions you could both use Google Adsense & Amazon to monetize the property. Dogs are on the short list of viral topics so the social marketing side of the brand is fairly straightforward & proven with reposting of viral dog content.

I've used this exact phrase myself this week, "can dogs... eat almond butter". (Answer: Yes, they can, and she loved it.)

I do not have a guess at the $$$ valuation but it's a pretty strong phrase for content marketing :)

Seeing as how you have posted a whopping 8 messages here...do you even understand how domains work? You can't just randomly string words together...otherwise HowDoILoseALotOfWeight.com would be a great domain, seeing as how there are tens of millions of searches on Google for it...but you will notice, the domain isn't even registered...because that's not how it works. 'Can Dogs' makes no sense...the fact that you can add words to it to make a sentence makes no difference.

I do not yet know much about putting a dollar valuation on a domain name, and pretty much derivatively of that I do not yet know much about selling domain names. I tried to be clear at the end of my post about that. You are correct I have very few posts in this forum, though your response wasn't that welcoming.

I am a successful marketer & developer with a lot of experience outside of this forum; that is where my opinion and expertise come from. You probably have sold more domain names than I have so on the subject you likely know more of the precise valuation of the domain name. I may know more about development concepts & marketing and monetization strategies. The original author of the thread wanted to hear other opinions so I supplied mine based on my experience.

I also simply enjoyed the author's take on the vision for "can dogs... ?" as I frequently search that exact phrase and did so just yesterday.

Thanks for the reply!

Works well as "Canada Dogs" / "Canadian Dogs". Someone in that niche might be willing to offer $xxx - low $x,xxx.

But, I think your best bet is to get back in touch with the .co.uk owner. Looks like he's still in business. Could be a good $x,xxx sale.

In any case, don't be too rigid with the $ value or get your hopes too high. The domain doesn't have that much potential, IMO. Flip it, and be done.

:)

@Domain Check Do you mean monetize by parked domain ads?

I doubt that it would do that well untargeted & parked. If you were developing the site with informational content it matches with really popular search terms with very specific keywords easily identified. That would probably make it attractive to an end user looking to get in on the dog market.

It's also a hotdog joint in London at http://candogs.co.uk they may be the best end user of the domain and you most likely target for a modest greater than reg price. Again I don't know much about the specific dollar valuation but I can't imagine a small hot dog business being able to pay more than $100-$150 for it? Just ideas :)
