What platform do you recommend to build an e-commerce website with online payments?

You really need to give everyone some more background and info on your requirements, skill level, what your trying to sell, geo requirements, processing requirements, platform requirements etc etc etc ...

The 'best' e-commerce platform is the one that makes you the most money by facilitating the sale in the best way for your particular audience ...

for a DIY approach I suggest ProStores (owend by ebay) and has a simple cart function and can add thousands of products. Also you can set them up to sell on ebay with 2 clicks (or 3). Also BigCommerce is ok to. Many are out there but you got to se what it is you have control over for on page SEO and such.
