Hey

I just got a question on the stance on auction closing

for example say the Auction closing time is stated as being 5:00 PM

are bids allowed to continue after the 5:00 PM mark up to 5:00:99

Because the Forum counts any post after 10:00 PM to be 10:00PM wether it be 10:00:01 or 10:00:59

so hence would the auction technically close at 4:59:59 and all bids after be void???

Are there any established rules on this?

Thanks

Iravan

If the contest ends at 10:00pm, technically the last bid acceptable is 10:00pm. Since the forum does not display the seconds, if two or more people chime in at what appears to be 10:00pm (or whatever the deadline is), the last one to post with the 10:00pm stamp is the clear winner. Closing the auction at 9:59:59 would not be fair because it has not reached the deadline of 10:00pm yet.

Good Points... But I have 1 question

is closing the Auction after 10:00PM (10:59= after 10:00) fair?

If the contest holder says it ends at 10:00pm, then all entries with the 10:00pm timestamp should be allowed. While it's true that it may overlap past the technical 10:00pm mark by a few seconds, there is no way to measure the seconds here. So to be fair to all parties we must accept the 10:00 time stamp regardless.

This is my opinion. If -RJ- or any of the staff feel otherwise, please correct me.

Ok Thanks for the clarification!

I will remember this for future auctions

Are there any official rules on this?

Like written down anywhere?

Not that I know of. Like I said, it's my opinion. Feel free to ask -RJ- directly if you're not in agreement.
