This is a domain I might have bought when I was new into domain investing, but now I would have passed on it.

At first glance, it seems like it may be a good buy because the Age and history.

However, when you break it down piece by piece, it's one of those domains that will earn very little in PPC revenue (because the backlinks are old/outdated), and most likely will never sell to an end user.

The reason is from a branding standpoint, FindaPetonline is a long-tail, 4 word, 5 syllable and any company with a budget is going to choose a shorter, more premium brand for their business.

If it was www.FindaPet.com then you would have a winner.

The big clue, is "findapet" is registered in 17 extensions, whereas "findapetonline" is only registered in 1.

I have 20+ similar domains I have acquired over the years, traffic domains with backlinks, but not great brands, and have only sold 1 that was on payment plan and then cancelled. AI has analyzed my portfolio and says these types of domains are "Dead weight" and affecting total STR.

I operated it for many years, invested maybe 6 hours a week on average, and it consistently earned over $1000 a month. In 2012, I accepted a significant promotion in my regular job, which required more hours worked, and when I wasn't working, I didn't have the time or inclination to keep it going.

The mistake you made was not exiting when the site was active making $1000/mo.

You should have listed it for sale on Flippa then and you might have gotten $10k-$20k+ for it.

But since you let the site go offline, and have no proof of traffic or income, the history is practically worthless now. The domain authority is only 3.5 DA and old traffic domains like this sell for next to nothing every day.

So what's left is strictly the brand value of the domain which isn't worth much imo. Like I said, FIndaPet.com would be a solid brand, but findapetonline.com is not something any serious company would invest in because it's too long and there are much shorter, brandable options on the aftermarket.

Just look at what competitors in this niche you're up against:
PetFinder.com
PetPlace.com
AdoptaPet.com
Puppies.com
etc...

FindaPet.com aligns with these, short, easy to remember, the -online really lowers the value substantially.
