OK, I've gotten about 3 emails and 2 or 3 calls from this aplus.net... when I got the emails, they looked like spam, so I'm debating whether or not to even return the calls (they were voicemail).

I registered MissingDomains.com 2 or 3 days ago and I posted for an appraisal here and that's when the calls and emails started.

What's this company about? Is it just another hosting company trying to sell me something (because I've never actually gotten calls from them)? Scam?

Aplus.net (or Fminus.net as I like to call them) is a hosting company with some other features like domain registration. I used to get 1-3 calls per DAY from them for about a month, and it has come down to a few now and then. What they do is check WHOIS for new registrations, and harass people into trying their hosting. One of their sales people (with a distinct accent - so I remember him) called me no less than 4 times  Each time I asked for them to put me on a company do-not-call list, but they said they didn't have one since they weren't a marketing company :-/ After I established that I wasn't interested in their hosting, they tried selling me their domain name registrations. I mentioned that I buy domains for $6.95 and they backed off real fast :) LOL.

What kind of company they are does not make them exempt from Telemarketing Laws. If you ask them not to call again and they telemarket twice anytime within the next 10 years, you can sue them for $500.
