None that i know of.. they usually charge a small fee... IMHO i think it better to leave it there and show your support for the developers who have spent a lot of there spare time making and keeping the the CMS script up to date.

I recommend these:
PHP-Fusion
Mambo
Joomla

All the above have links back but are some of the best CMS's around

i usually check with www.cmsmatrix.org
they have a side by side comparison of the cms scripts of your choice there, including ratings, reviews and comments. Definitely worth checking out.

I've recently found silverstripe, it's released under the BSD license, so I think you're free to edit the source however you like.
