Hey all,

I'm not sure if you remember us all gazing at what was the sight of the "n00b" Domainer, the proud owner of DIRTBIKE.com

http://www.namepros.com/domain-appraisals/156218-dirtbike-com.html?highlight=dirtbike

With his 6 posts and a $75,000 domain, it looks like the guys here at namepros played a big part in his sale mentioned on DNjournal.com/domainsales.htm this week!

If I could only turn back the hands of time, to the time before the domain market BOOM!

Anyway, Congrats to him :tu:

Quite a lifechanging sum of money for someone who was ignorant, but curious as to the worth of something he just decided to keep for 10 years!

Well said! LOL! Glad to see he was able to work with what he had although he had no clue of what he was doing! :'(

Google.com would have been useless to register, the same with Yahoo.com.

And to think all of us Namepros sit here waiting for a few bucks here and there. These noobs take loads of cash.
I guess the Saying"The Early bird gets the worm " right about sums it up. I would like to change that to the Early bird gets the dough :$: :$: :$:

LOL

Anyway. google only became popular because of the domain name, so if you were to have regged it, people would probably give it a 0$ value :P

If i had that machine :
I would have bought a ton of 1952 topps, and never opened them.(topps first year, mantles rookie)
I would have bought 10 McDonalds (early 60`s)
I would have kept all my MEGO action figures (70`s) in the box (so i could have saved 1000`s today rebuying them)
I would have bought all the StarWars stuff ( when they were at the 99 cent discount stores in 1978)
I would have bought stock in that micro something business (in the 80`s)
I would have sold the 100,000 shares of Lucent Technologies (6years ago when it was worth big bucks)

But to all this who knew???

I do buy all the old MIB/MIP toys i can find now
I do own stock in google
I do eat McDonalds ( 3 times a month)
I have a nice mantle over my fireplace

and to that even with what im doing now its all just a gamble...

the toys may lose value
google may bust
McDonalds may quit selleing their freedom fries (ooops french fries)
the fire place may burn my mantle and house down
:)

They have been 'Noobs' here on the forum but they didn't register their domains last week, did they.

They registered them in the last century.

It goes to show you that many people have no idea the worth of their domains that eventually sell for big bucks. It makes me think I should be doing more whois searches and contacting registrants directly...
