enom responded with a "no such a/c " ID

this friend then creates a New a/c for me with the name/new ID/new PW

i login and lo and behold all the "data" from my first a/c is there.

That's true only for transfers between registrars. For transfers within the same registrar (aka pushes), there are no such time restrictions.

So you can do it any time?, does pushes cost money?

Does Name Cheap charge for pushes?

Enom does not charge for pushes. It should be free elsewhere; if not, then move to a different registrar!

Namecheap is an enom reseller. I don't use them, but I believe you can't push a domain from namecheap to a different enom account. There should be a way to transfer ownership between namecheap accounts.

Nope, as Armstrong decribed. :)
I think that Enom is "case sensitive" ... so if one or more letters is capitalized, it must be entered exactly as the receiving User ID is entered in to Enom. I'm positive of this with Dotster, not so positive with Enom, but it could explain why you had the above issue. Enom "pushes" should be simple dimple! These "pushes" are free, as well.
Please keep us posted.
