Hi Qest,

http://www.fizix.org/aqua/ -

Load time - 55 seconds at 56k (not counting the frame you haven't finished)
60% of web surfers in the US use a 56k modem, average connection 49K. Some countries in Europe and the third world are lucking to get 33.6. A 19 second page load-time will lose you 60 - 70 percent of your visitors before the page loads. The losses go up for each second. It may look great but if no one sees it .......

Frames - Don't

Flash - you're gonna add to the load time? There's a saying " want to make a site invisible, let a flash guy build it".

It ain't the looks that count kid. Build with goals and objectives as your first priority. Looks don't mean a thing if noone sees it, doesn't stick around for it to load, or your client isn't meeting his roi.

http://www.fizix.org/autoshop/

Header load time - 33 seconds

Menu - right now google is the only SE that can spyder links in java, but you were able to stop them by including dhtm data for links.

Yeah... the load times are pretty awful on aqua, and not good on the autoshop. I didn't know those statistics though. Kinda a mind-opener. I'm working on a way to reduce the size (currently 150kb)... The flash should actually make it smaller (jpegs).

By the way: No frames in any of those sites (nor will there be), I can't stand frames and never use them. Don't know where you woulda gotten that idea from, I don't think I said that.

Thanks for that... I'll see what I can do to reduce the load time ;).

Qest

---EDIT---
Reduced to 80kb

You have a Iframe in the center. In the code it looks like this

<td width='550' rowspan="2"><iframe name='content' width='100%' height='500' frameborder='0' src="" scrolling="no"></iframe></td>

looks are good, but loading times are pretty long indeed.

and I got 2 white spaces with that autoshop site.

and other side a gap like that
it reduces(dissapears) when I make my browser smaller.

The overall layout of the message board skin is great, one of the best looking skins I've ever seen. However, I think the "blueprint" banner is too big, the right hand side looks bare.

Everyone else has covered the loading time problem with the websites.

Re: A Few Sites

Site #1 (invision) is very nice, i love the colors and layout

Site #2 looks very much like a template, and redoing the header in flash will make it run smoother. Someone will put this to good use, although I think I've seen something very simila on one of the free-site-template sites.

Site #3 As a browser, I would have a hard time finding stuff in the drop downs unless the drop-down-title text was very descriptive.

those sites load pretty slow, but they are very nice!

Loading time is the only issue, as everyone has mentioned. I really like the stuff though, you've got lots of talent!

@ pinkfluffybunny -> My bad, when I think frames I don't think Iframes. You say that Iframes are bad too? Howcome, I've used them a lot and never any serious problems.

@ mello88 -> Thanks in regards to sites 1 and 2. And I agree with you about the autoshop site... I will make a note to myself to have good titles and logical organization to ease the strain some :).

@ John Kennedy -> I understand what you are saying about it looking kinda bare. Are you viewing at a high resolution, because then it would undoubtably look even worse. I will look into livening the right side up. Thanks for the imput.

@ Slewey -> In regards to fizix: like I said, I'm working now on ways to reduce the size without killing the quality. As for the autoshop header, I just threw that together. I'm not really surprised to find out its got problems, lol. When we meet with the guy who we are making that site for and get a clear idea of where its headed I will get that header finer tuned, and finish the template.

Because your Iframe has no links to get people into your site "when", it is registered with the search engine. It may be the one 90% of your search engine traffic comes to.

Search engines like text. Feed them.
