What would be the value of a 7-letter everyday dictionary word (.com) that doesn't have any obvoius application? I found an unregistered name that fits that description, but I'm wondering if these types of names really carry any significant value. A comparable word to the one I'm thinking of might be "listens".
Thanks for your input...

dude

now that you've reg'd it, how about telling us what this name is ? :)

when it becomes official, I will ask for appraisals on that one & two others I regged at the same time.
Just a note - decent .coms are going FAST - I had a list of 10 unregged names from Friday that I was considering, and 2 were snatched up over the weekend.

Nice try - it's not a synonym of "listens", but I thought it was comparable. Anyway, I'll let you know what it was by tomorrow hopefully.

I agree depends too much on the word. There is no way it could be told.

OK, here is the name I registered yesterday:

saddens.com
- I am struggling to think of a good application for it. Maybe a forum for people who have lost loved ones or a site on how to cope with that. It was a short dictionary word, so I went ahead & grabbed it.

Also,
sitecrawl.com
- With the popularity of webcrawlers these days, I thought this was a good one.

and
i-105.com
- This one seems more of a stretch, but I thought it could be used for traffic updates/delays etc... on I-105. There is a 105 in California as well as up here in Oregon & we are having a big construction project on our 105 next year.

Any thoughts or appraisals welcome...

saddens -- low XXX if developed. the fact that the word has negative connotations does hurt the value.

sitecrawl -- great name ! low to mid X,XXX if developed, maybe more?

i-105 -- reg fee to mid XX

best of luck with them

saddens - 20
webcrawl - 100+
i-105 - 15

sadden will be nicer without the "s". But with your development idea, I will give it at least a low $xxx. sitecrawl is nice, just domain will be $xx, with site at least mid $xxx. i-105 might be a better idea for a design site, reg fee.

saddens - reg. fee
webcrawl - low $xx wholesale -- great dev. potential
