My partner and I have a portfolio of 511 dates of the form www.january2nd.com.
Coverage: We have 184 .com dates and 327 .net dates. We cover 332 days of the year with one or the other form. All are registered at godaddy. A list is available upon request.
We would ideally like to sell the entire portfolio but would be willing to sell individual URLs as well.
We haven't generated a ton of traffic (no advertising, no development) but believe these can be very valuable for multiple purposes:
First, the URLs could become highly valued by corporations, governments, or individuals who are planning to create content or brand a major event based on a particular date. The domains could also be monetized via selling them individually should particular dates become significant.
Second, you could engage in site development around events to allow individuals to create date-based content. Prime examples include weddings or birthdays, which were the most common uses of many of these domains before we purchased them.
Alternatively, you could create content yourself based on events (similar to Marchex's local content development around zip codes). No one has created the definite place on the Internet to turn to for event or calendar information. Combined with local search, this could be very powerful.
