Other than a football score, I guess I just don't get it. Let's see, 5 touchdowns, with one of those touchdowns being a two point conversion.

What were your thoughts when you registered it? Probably not football I am guessing... At this point I just don't see a value. OTOH, I never cease to be amazed at what end users buy, so you *might* be able to sell it.

a football fanatic,

Football score was all I could find on this too.

"Barber scored late in the third quarter of the Giants' 36-0 rout of the Washington Redskins"

Consider it no value unless being a 4 character name(with no letters) is a big deal to someone.

Sorry, but I don't like NN-N or LL-L domains. Can't see any value IMO

I don't care for football so I didn't make that connection when registering this domain.

I registered this for the same reason you would register a L-L-L or N-N-N.com which are rising in value. It's a viable alternative to the LLL or NNN.com.

Granted, I agree LL-L/NN-N domains are more ideal in situations where the one number or letter would make sense being separated from the other two letters or numbers.
For example, I would've taken 3-60.com before I took this, 36-0.com. Why? Because 360 is usually pronounced in two parts, "three-sixty" so it makes good sense to divide the number into two parts, 3-60 for an alternative. 3-60.com (registered since 2000 ) is long gone along with the .net, .org, .eu, .us, and co.uk. So I settled for 36-0.com, the NN-N variant of the name and I'm happy with it.

Furthermore, 360 is a super premium number combination which is extremely popular for branding as a suffix or prefix (Xbox 360, Norton 360, Yahoo 360, or the name360.com/360name domain regging trend).

Finally you should consider the rarity factor (and the intrinsic value associated with that) that there are only 1000 N-NN.coms, NN-N.coms, or N-N-N.coms. By simply owning 10 N-NN/NN-N/N-N-N dot coms you control one entire percent of the given market. They are as statistically rare as NNN.coms.

I believe that L-LL/LL-L/N-NN/NN-N domains will eventually be bought out. Dozens of the L-LL/LL-L/N-NN/NN-N already registered point to active websites (not including under construction or parked pages) so there is end user value too..

Hope this helps you to better understand my purchase decision and how this name has value. :)

I do agree its extreme shortness of length has some value, thats why i mention it was a 4 character name. Its just that alot of people on here dont want to wait for future values on a names like this, so you got to talk about whats it worth right now. Short names are cool, good luck with it.

I was guessing that "360" was where you were going with this.

As for value vs rarity, these are not always correlated. It really gets back to the old "supply/demand" thing. If supply is low, but there is an even lower market demand, then the value is low.

Markets have an incredible way of routing around excessive pricing, in the same way that the net routes around damage. If a buyer has multiple options for an overpriced asset, then the buyer will choose that option which gives comparable (or even marginally less) value for a lower price.

The best market position (for longs) is obviously one in which demand exceeds supply, with few alternatives.

Yes, for a rare domain to have value, it must not only be rare but it must actually be usable. For example, a LqLqL.com (three letters with Q's between them) even though being as statistically rare as an L-L-L.com or LLL.com has little value because it's not useful for development. L-L-L/N-N-N/L-LL/LL-L/N-NN/NN-N.com's on the other hand ... Many are registered and dozens point to an actual website. This proves that they are useful to and are used by end users.

I agree with you about supply and demand. According to that, it would be difficult for L-L-L and N-N-N dot coms to reach their full potential if not most/all of the L-LL/LL-L/N-NN/NN-N domains are taken, and vice versa. Right now, an end user finding the L-L-L.com of his/her choice is taken could have it in the the L-LL/LL-L format for reg fee, without ever bothering with the owner of the L-L-L.com.

All L-L-L/N-N-N/L-LL/LL-L/N-NN/NN-N.com and even pure LLL/NNN.com domains will benefit from a full buyout of all the combinations of the short domains.

As you said,

My appraisal request is turning into a long discussion, but I am happy for it because I think we will all learn something from it.

3x12 =36. So 12 field goals and no touchdowns. Or baseball, hockey, or socker however unlikely that high but you never know.

or

36-0 = 360
