I have jdk1.5.0 and Tomcat 5.0.28 on my comp. At localhost:8080 i get the standard Tomcat installed succesfully. But:

1. if I go in tomcat/bin and shutdown the process(by executing shutdown.bat) and then I execute start.bat I get this:

could it be that I didn't set java_home? how do I set it up??

2. At localhost:8080 there are some examples with servlets among which there is also the classic HelloWorldExample which if executed works just fine. note that the example is found in servlet-examples directory. I copyed the Hello..s.java and Hello..s.class files from there and copyed it to webapps/Root/Web-inf/classes and in the brower I typed localhost:8080/servlet/HelloWorldExample....it doesn't work...how can that be posible?

10x in advance

Set Classpath and JAVA_HOME variable properly.

or try to use catalina.bat script:

catalina.bat stop
catalina.bat start

if you look inside of the script you can see the enviromental variables and how to set them

Best Regards
