Hey Johnny6....

Thanks very much for the smooth transaction....

All done.

It did not look like an auction to start.... since the reserve seemed to have been set.

At 54.00 it is a "steal of a chicken deal"

:)

Don't mind me putting in my $0.02

I have the impression that this sale wasn't transacted sufficiently professionally. I, for one, did not place a bid because I knew that I would never be willing to pay up to the reserve price for the domains. If I had known that the reserve pricing would not be adhered to finally - which is truly a new concept to me - I would have placed my bids too. In all, the seller is obviously free to transact as he wishes to, but I hope this new concept of ignoring reserve prices will not be common on NP just because it is both confusing and illogical.

No hard feelings - at all - just $0.02 :)
Enjoy the chicken!

MY .02 cents

DEAR DRMAXIMUS

I can't completely agree with you.

Here is my point.

I always bid from the bottom up and stop when I feel it's enough.

I have learned from the past in this business to always bid whatever your willing to pay.

I don't want to turn this into a business course.... but if ones decides to buy a home, a business, a car, ect., one always tries to bid the amount that were ready to pay.

JUST MY .02

nothing personal....

OK, my second and last take on this.

(1) There was a $400 reserve on this auction
(2) This means a highest bid at $399.99 is not successful, according to the definition of a reserve price
(3) If the seller is open to selling below the reserve, then

(a) he should mention something to the effect "Reserve is $XXX or Best offer considered", or
(b) Declare this auction closed and unsuccessful and then list another offer declaring the above statement, or
(c) Extend this auction declaring no winning bid but opening the auction up to best offers

In all, I do not contend that this transaction was not legit - sellers do anything they want! Just that it sometimes calls for a tad more professionalism, or maybe, clarity.

I did not say anything to the effect that you did wrong. You did great! But the seller wasn't 100% fair to all prospective buyers/interested parties on this sale.

Period.

I din't take any of it bad....

I am glad I got chicken...

I guess we should all try and stay on each others good sides....

All the best

Have to agree.

Ultimately, the seller may have lost out on some bigger dollars for his name.

Manic's post addresses these concerns.

Come on, lets act mature. You all know that buy reserve, he meant buy now price. So leave him be
