Looking through yesturday's dropped domains I found these two that did not seem so great at all and was suprized to see that ULTSEARCH registered them...

They are:

12thfret.com
banjee.com

Any clues?

Thanks

Suz

Because they register EVERYTHING!?! D-:
If you ever figure it out, FunMom ... please let me know. UltSearch is the ultimate mystery to me, IMO.
Have a great night.

well coolhost.com i just saw your post..ultsearch unlike buydomains likes to get domains with traffic mostly..these traffic domains generate good income for them as they get direct listings from their sponsors instead of middlemen..hope that answers it..

Thanks, Adill ... I knew it had something to do with "traffic", or assumed so, anyway.

Yah, but I wonder how much traffic that a domain needs to get before ultsearch registers it?

i would register a domain with 5 uniques a day
5 x 365 = something like 2200 +/- uniqes per year
and with a $6.95 reseller account thats a good deal

Okay let me think about this with a pop-up on entry one on exit thats two popups at easily $.65 CPM with a banner ad and some perhaps other paid content at least $1.50 per 1,000 visits so about 5,000 Unique visits in my situation to make good on a domain or less then 14 a day so clearly alot of domains meet that criteria :) perhaps I should try something along what ultsearch does sometime lol.

well actually..here is exactly what happens..

companies such as ultsearch don't go after each domain by doing math and figuring out which domains gets how many uniques and how much money can they pull in..they simply buy the domains that show traffic..usually all the domains pay off within 6 months..for companies such as ultsearch who have direct ppc engines of their owns and direct contracts with overture and findwhat they probably get paid off in 4 months..what they look at lets say in may they have 5000 domains generating $500/day in june their portfolio goes to 6000 domains generating $600/day..so its more of a overall than just per domain basis..by the way ultsearch does from time to time loose track of domains and let it drop..i have few domains dropped from ultsearch that have very good traffic :)

let me know if any other questions come up

laskos you can try going to overture and typing in the domain or going to marketleap and looking for exisiting links, for traffic estimates the best I would know is perhaps alexa but not sure other then that method.

Laskos check the drop lists against marketleap and archive.org, that would be a decent start :)
