Thanks to @Lox we now know, that Microsoft owns the domain copilot .si

SI, clearly, stands for Super Intelligence in this case.

Do you own any .si domains?

I'll start with the one I have;

Roboter .si

How about you?

The movement to restrict development of superintelligence until scientists agree that it can be safely developed may cause a chill in companies adopting .si as part of their name. Geoffrey Hinton, who played a crucial role in much of the AI we have today, is a leading signatory.

What inspired you to register this domain?
I searched the top 100 first names for availability and it was unregistered. I like that it’s gender neutral and short. I think it will make a nice name for an AI agent.

TBH they say that about every stage of development with AI.

Even Chatgpt 1 they were spreading fear, I think these organizations want control and $$$ more than anything.

Truth is, AI and superintelligence is safe. Anything that could possibly go wrong could have been automated anyway, and there's always a human that would have to give access/privileges/control to a system to allow anything nefarious.

I might want to believe you, but I have absolutely no reason to believe you.

All AI is, is an advanced auto-correct (predictive text) engine. it's quite basic actually.

I built one just for fun to learn about it, but quickly realized that the code is simple but building a usable dataset and processing resource limitations is where the difficulties come in.

Here is a basic demo of how it works:
https://microgpt-ts.vercel.app/playground?tab=dataset

I think a lot of the "fear" from governments is from the possibility of GPT-5+ capabilities getting into the hands of the public, not from the disastrous consequences but from the real threat of truth leaking out from people training on uncensored datasets.

Ai is math and math is absolute. Math will find the patterns and get to the bottom of the truth, always.

What is available to the public is censored and "corrected". If it was able to train on all data without censorship, it would be revealing some very alarming things to the public.

This is pretty interesting:
https://progress.openai.com/

It shows the progress of each year of openai/chatgpt. You can scroll through and the progress is impressive.

I found this one not only strange but quite funny:

Write a poem to explain Newton's laws of physics

2018

GPT-1
" but you said the world is flat , and that 's the problem . i guess i 'll try this one . " she handed him a small piece of paper and pencil ." it 's called the ' universe ' , " she said , " so there 's a lot of possibilities . " she started to open the paper ." wait , wait , i thought you said there were only two dimensions . "" well , i was wrong . " she started to write ." what did you say ? " royden asked ." there 's a lot of possibilities . "

Here is a tutorial for anyone out there wanting to create there own LLM:
https://github.com/rasbt/LLMs-from-scratch

The most basic way to explain "tokenization" for an LLM is like this:

It starts with a dataset, and the LLM converts items from the dataset into a "token". When you Train on a dataset, the LLM tries to guess what the token is, and compares it's guesses with the actual data. Based on the results it will adjust it's algorithm.

If the LLM is 100% trained on a dataset, and there is no creativity in the configuration, then it will simply "copy and paste" from the dataset.

It is very similar to your phone's auto-correct. When you type in HE it will pull the most likely predictions based on what you have typed in the past so "HELLO" and "HEY", etc.

I hope that makes sense.

For the first time ever, I stepped up for .SI and today I registered some domains. I don't know the future of .SI, but this time I don't want to miss the opportunity. I missed registering some good .COMs, .IO, .XYZ, missed the Crypto era, missed the .IN era, and still missing the .AI era. Now, something is blowing in my mind regarding .SI and I don't want to miss it.

I don't know whether Super Intelligence is safe or not, but I can say that AI is also risky - it helps those people who are running multi-billion trillion dollar companies, they are wiping out thousands of jobs every day, and how can we say it (AI) is safe?

Still, I am not against AI, because my own views can't change the direction of the world. And now I don't think anyone will stop Super Intelligence from growing and doing business. AI brings lots of new billionaires in a short time, and the same may be possible with Super Intelligence. Those companies that grew 2x or 5x in the last 1-2 years will definitely be interested in Super Intelligence. And yes, they are running the economies of many countries and no one is there to stop them.

So, my view is neutral, but Super Intelligence is coming and no one will stop it. Let me know who has the power to stop those companies that are bigger than the entire economies of big countries?

Recent warnings have come from the CEO of Anthropic.
I view this as hypocrisy ahead of Anthropic’s upcoming IPO—a move intended to demonstrate responsible leadership.

As far as we can tell, Anthropic currently leads the field in AI capabilities. It is akin to the head of a hypercar manufacturer calling for a speed limit.

In reality, a battle for system supremacy has long since broken out. An agreement on a moratorium is out of the question, especially on a global scale.

Some people really do drink the corporate cool-aid. Whoever is writing/signing that are the same people who are destroying our society with wokery whilst simultaneously wishing to protect their corporate monopolies/interests in whatever sector they are operating in.

If the signatories aren't already explicitly happy for countries to have their entire cultures and safety debased through mass immigration, they are WEF supporting sooges, they see dollar signs every time anything new comes about and want their fingers in the pie either directly or indirectly. A great way to do this is "regulation" (green energy, carbon credits anyone?). This is always the case with regulation, big corps love it.

These people think that we have nearly reached some critical milestone with AI that could kill us all, which we have not and it won't, because of some corporate bullshit designed to make it look like they're doing something spooky, companies are doing this to make money and the people signing that want influence and/or money.

"AI" should be removed in it's current form from Google search etc not because it is clever, but because of how dumb it is imho.
