Paid $15K for it like an idiot. It was listed at $35K.

I got bills and have it for sell for $3K. Is it worth that much?

There's one documented sale of drsound.com.

Presupposing you bought it at a later date for $15,000 you did indeed overpay for it.

It wouldn't be impossible to sell it for $3,000 to an end-user. The problem is that you need a buyer. A lot of domainers have extensive domain portfolios for this reason. If you have a hundred decent domains, you can expect an offer (or two) every month or so. So if you cut down your portfolio to one, statistically can expect an offer in five to ten years.

Of course, these are very rough estimates (and the quality of the domains play a major factor), but the point I'm making is that you can't expect a potential buyer within a week. The only quick way to sell it would be to another investor, and they'd pay you maybe 10% of what you're asking.

I purchased it in Jan of last year. This is good info. Which site did you use to track the sales of a domain?

You can use namebio.com to track sales. It’s not a bad name I would say try to find outbound opportunities and throw up on Afternic. If you paid that kind of money you’re in for the long haul. Also check your inbox I dropped you a message.

I assume you are envisaging its use as DrSound as in audiologist, A little scout around does show it in use mostly just in Asian Countries. The .net and .org are both being offered for sale for low $x,xxx. I personally don't like the domain but I can understand how a country (probably India) may want to use it for it's basic English association.

I'm pretty sure it will be a difficult sale on the American English market for the sort of price your looking for. Probably doesn't help that a simple microsoft lookup takes you straight to a fraud/scam result at No1. Google however, has plenty of positive associations for products and usage, including English speaking

Bottom line, I think you could be waiting a long-time for at best a $3k sale, maybe years. I think there is enough usage out there for you to step-up and do some OUTBOUND work on this one. Check all the TM databases first. and don't outbound them. But even I can see there are a fair few worth targeting. This may get you the lower $3k your after.

In terms of what you say you paid. So much better out there for that sort of Dollar. I'm lost as to why you paid that.

$90 to $475 = Reseller Value Speculation (NOT an end user speculation)

You spent (top dollar) end user price on a (low interest) niche specific domain and didn't build on it.

Let that sink in.
