Does anyone know how we can get around this? I need to transfer my domain today and they say I have 55 more days before I am eligible.

It’s possible, but it depends on the registry. Which registrar is the domain with?

You can also generally push the domain to a new account within the same registry even while its sill in the 60 day lockup.

Thank you. That worked! It seems like they did everything they could to avoid being clear about this option.

The 60-day lock period is standard for all registrars as per ICANN policy:
https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/name-holder-faqs-2017-10-10-en

However, some registrars allow transfers within the 60-day lock period upon request, or allow you to opt-out of this from the start.

You haven't mentioned your registrar, but it's very likely that they have their policy regarding this listed somewhere on their website.

I believe you can transfer your domain name to another account at the same registrar. I think this is called an inter registrar transfer.

That's why I registered my new domain name on thoes platforms that allows transfer within the website without waiting for 60 days. As long as the seller registers an account there, it can be transferred immediately.
