Trends have always been a part of the domaining industry. Whether it is the major Chinese trend where 4L .coms, which people wouldn't buy for $50 would sell for 4-figures, to crypto trend where some of the domainers ended up making major five and six figures sales, it is common for something or the other to come every 5 years or so.
I believe, since the technology landscape is changing, domain name industry is also bound to experience the impact of this, given that the industry sits at the center of the internet boom (minus the app-only business maybe). And the short terms trends that we see are a part of it.
Given the many number of trends right from the start of the business, which of these have you been a part of? What did you miss and wish you could have been a part of, is also an interesting question to share.
If you have stories around some of the major successes just like we saw one of the domainers sell CryptoGame(dot)com for high 5-figures, it would be interesting to listen to. Meanwhile, if there were major offers you declined, another interesting thing to let out.
Did you buy 4Ls at high prices following the trend? Could be a story or a learning if you share your thought process behind it.
