Hi everyone. I've been twitter/instagram handling (not sure if there's an actual word for it) for a while now, which is essentially the same as domaining but with social media usernames. Stumbled across domaining by accident and it looks very interesting! It's incredible to me just how many 5 letter and one word domains are still available. Very different from social media, where it's free to claim each username and that account usually lasts forever, so it can be much harder to find the name you want. Excited to get into domaining however, as the marketplaces and auctions seem much more organized!

It would be incredible to us too ‘if’ there were ‘any’ one word .com domains available! ..or ‘any’ .net, .org, .co etc. too!

Well the one words that are still available are pretty long and with suffixes, but there are definitely a few out there! Satisfactoriness, rationalisations, etc. I think too long to be useful though

Your "are still available" reminded me that I hear news that this and that is all gone - and it can let get me down... BUT, then, I'm reminded of creativity! And, too, that there are always new trends. And always be new name-genres that are 'must buys' for end users. The world keeps changing. There will always be new ways to be successful domainers. Always new opportunities. Always. No worries.

Hello @Grand .. and welcome to NamePros! :)

I didn't even know there were official marketplaces for social media handles? I thought the only way to buy/sell those was to be creative and sell them as part of a business or something like that?

Anyhow .. you still need to worry about trademarks with domains .. but overall it's actually allowed to buy/sell domain names .. even if at times it seems like nobody is buying! lol

Best of luck to you going forward! :)
