Would you buy your nameSurname.com domain?Or do you already own it.
I am new in the domain industry, still have much to learn. While i was looking at the expired domains lists, i saw that some nameSurname domains were expired. I thought it was a good idea to register the domain and sell it to that named person. The last domain that excited me was brainHu.com.There are 10 people in the linkedIn.Few twitter accounts. No instagram accounts. .Net is registered and online. Yet there is much to answer.

1-)Is it legal and ethical?

2-)Would people buy their nameSurname.com domain?Would you buy? (Price like 50-100$)

3-)Let’s say he agreed to buy the domain. How money-domian transfer should be? I know only godaddy auctions but i think it might be confusing for the buyer. What do you think?

Thanks :)

If you are a public legit person that can't just "disappear". Paypal but have auth codes ready and have them order domain transfer prior to sending money via Paypal.

People get skiddish when using Paypal. So always best to have the domain ready to go to give.

Preferably. if the domain has plenty of time before expiring. It's best to have them create an account at the registrar where the domain is at. Just give the registrar a heads up you plan on pushing the domain to another account.

This option is also best when it's a domain you just regged and and it's still under 60day lock.

I think you could lose more often than win if you tried squatting like that.

I own my surname. Love telling people that my email address is my name. There is a market for them, but would take a lot of outbound marketing. I don't think the average person would even think about buying or registering their name.

only do it for common names. 10 people isn't a market.

yes and yes

why you call that squatting?
yes and no
and yes you can argue all you like on Donald Trump vs John Smith but it won't be with me.
I am certainly not going to offer legal advice but I am not going to let someone hang themselves either. Owning a domain is not parking it or hosting it of any kind because then your selling using it perhaps someone may see that sale or your offer to sell as selling under their name as a fraud or false endorcement.
