I'm Mike, recently into domain name. The first domain I bought was around a little more than one year ago, it was a .fun I hand regged and it was promoted at a very low price; a very marketable and easy to remember one word name oriented towards the business of entertainment articles. Not worth much on the GD appraisal tool, but it's just a bot, right? If some celebrity happened to like this domain for a new entertainment project, the price of this "worthless" domain would suddenly skyrocket, so I take it that the value of domain names highly depends on trends. Information must be key in this business, no doubt. The "worthless" domain name of today may be the king domain name of tomorrow. Also true for all areas of life.
Anyway, bots are certainly very useful in helping us to see invaluable details we may otherwise miss, but we, humans, should have the final say at the true value of a domain, right?
Right now, the few domains I recently bought are hand regged, as I am too broke to bid $$$$ on some of the most marketable and easy to remember aged domains.
So I hand regged very marketable and easy to remember .com domains.
As they say, “One man's trash is another man's treasure."
