Short version: NOPE!

depend on many factor! last month ago, I sell geodomain, as long the domain have certain criteria! in the end of the day, someone will buy it!

Hi can you advise on services to look for when buying a geo domain and Country

well depend on situation! but most geo domain usually EMD, that have volume! because my domain that sold on afternic, its EMD that have search! so by acquairing my domain, they can save their marketing budget! and not only type traffic but many factor! bust just like said, its better for them to buy domain, than not!

I would only consider buying it to resell in the higher paying, 1 word keywords.

YES: TXHomes.com
NO: TXDogGrooming.com

EMD = Exact Match Domain. Domain names that has only the exact words of a phrase. "best web hosting", BestWebHosting.com

It depends on search volume.
If short version has little search volume I would consider these rather than choosing the short version:

word1-word2.tld :
[texas-service}

if word2 is a nTLD and if its renewal fee is reasonable:
word1.word2
[texas /dot/ service}

word2word1.tld
[servicetexas}

word1word2word3(oranumber).tld
[texasservices} or [texasservice24}
