Yes hand reg means just that, manually registering the domain.

Hand reg means, a domain name you find available,
and physically register it yourself.

There is no other way of registering an available domain
(as far as I know)

it means going to a registrar of your choice and registering the domain according to your research, it's a newly registered domain, not bought from someone else.

I have written an article of how to find available 5 letter domains , but it also covers other domain lengths. With these tools you will be better off finding domain names to hand reg.

Combination: Tomatotincan.com, Tintomato.com etc.

I'm sorry if I'm being obtuse,,,hand-reg is what I do if I create the domain name.
If I purchase a domain that someone previously hand registered, what kind of "reg" is that?
