"Die" is both the female article and the article used for plural forms in German.
Either way in this name it absolutely makes no sense to me unless a bitcoin is female or the plural of coin is also coin. So it just has to be read and understood the same as in English.
Wondering where the reseller value comes from.

"Die Bitcoin" = "The Bitcoin"

So there may be some value.

Nope it would have to be "Die BitcoinS" which would be plural. Otherwise its just spelled wrong.

Ok, so you are saying it it junk unless it's plural ? Why ? Germans play on words and phrases like any other languages. Are you German ?

Full Kraut indeed ;) You have "Die Münze", which is the German word for coin and in fact female, "Die Bitcoin" still is just awkward. As Frank says "Der Bitcoin" (male) wouldn't make it better, it just sounds wrong. Yes we are complicated ;D

Thanks for the reply. German is not my mother tongue but I can still speak some German. As we all know, German is complex. As the German translation of "the coin" is " die Münze" which in turns also gives the same article for the English word "Die Bitcoin".

As the German language has many times same noun with the different article, especially with imported English words, Bitcoin also has two article which is "Der Bitcoin" and "Die Bitcoin". It might not be a popular article for English words but it is grammatically correct!

Thanks, everyone for the valuable input!

Yes, I have also learned like that for English words basically "das" is used. But German is German!!! I truly agree.
