Domain transfer price and renewal price

Renewals are always higher. Usually at expiry, i transfer to namesilo or another registrar with low transfer

No. If you transfer the domain to another user, you will not be transfered the 2nd year renewal price. And for most TLDs, a transfer adds another year of registration to the domain (please confirm this in advance for the specific TLD of your domain).

Didn't realize transfer prices were really so much comparable as registration fees (albeit sometimes a little cheaper, for like GoDaddy, is my understanding atm).

So I guess, like here on this forum when domains are sold very cheaply ... it would really barely cover the transfer fees (or not cover it even) to make any profit.
