The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. The floodgates opened this past week with a remarkable string of blockbuster sales. The first five on our latest all extension Top 20 Sales Chart totaled over $3.5 million, led by a $1.2 million chart topper that was the first 7-figure sale reported this year. While .coms swept 16 of the 20 chart entries (included seven 3-letter .com sales) other categories had reason to celebrate as well. We saw the year’s biggest .org sale to date, coming in at $225,000, as well as 2018’s second biggest ccTLD sale. One other special post to tell you about. You have probably heard about Amazon buying the Ring video doorbell company for over $1 Billion. What you progbably haven’t heard is the fascinating back story about how the company’s CEO acquired the Ring.com domain for $1 million (a price he just confirmed) and why he said the domain was critical to Ring’s phenomenal success (in dollar terms he said it was worth 30 to 50 MILLION dollars to the company). Read about that here: http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/lowdown/2018/dailyposts/20180307.htm
