The scam is getting so real nowadays. Though this email's content is not so legitimate they have taken steps to mask their real email id which might convince a few that is from Godaddy. I haven't tried clicking on the link mentioned as I don't want to risk anything. Though you should notice that the link is a legitimate godaddy.com url.

The spaces in the link are intentionally created by me.

It's simple, when you have your own email server you can setup the from address to your desired email id as well.

You have to look carefully for the real server name/ip. Gmail would show you this in the case of an email id that does not match domain name of mail server: (SCAM)

And this when the name matches: (LEGIT)

Here is what gmail shows for an email sent using amazon-ses:

When people mark an email as spam, gmail also takes note of the mail server ip/domain name and blacklists it if majority of mails sent from it are marked spam.

Setting of from address is allowed so as that it will be convenient for people to reply back to the email id with ease. Else you will have to compose new mail each time you want to reply to a mail sent using 3rd party bulk email services like sendgrid, mailchimp, amazon-ses etc.,
