does anyone else have mini-sites that run on the wordpress engine?

with the sitemaps/aio seo plugins i find that the articles index almost immediately after publication which is excellent.

however, i don't think that's the case if your using duplicate content from free article sites.

not only do they not index immediately after publication, it seems like the google BOTS refuse to crawl them. as if to punish the sites.

anyone know what i mean?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
What I want to know is that, did you actually try this with duplicate contents?Or are just assuming the results. For a better survey, try to compare with real examples.

No, these are my observations from actual tests.

If your site has some basic traction on google, referred content also gets indexed easily. But its better to give credit from where you are taking content

try manually submitting your pages through sitemaps and see if this helps!.

If your sites have nothing but duplicate content, yep, after a while they get profiled and you will see the crawler start to slow down. Why would Google want to waste resources crawling the same stuff it already has in spades? Best to add at least something unique every now and then if you want to keep it coming back regularly.

And by the way - that's not considered a penalty, it's a filter. A penalty is when you're banned outright - your site has no pages indexed, and can't be found even on a search for the exact domain name.

A filter is when your site is spidered and indexed, and all your pages show up in a site: command, but they don't come up for any searches.

If you want to find out (roughly) how many pages are indexed, you type:

site:yoursite.com in the Google search box.

If you want to find out how many pages might actually come up for a search, type:

site:yoursite.com/* in the search box.
