Hmm, didn't know estibot actually bought domains. I might have to look into that.

Is Rapidshare a TM? I haven't checked...

But isn't this name kind of like saying GoogleSearch or MicrosoftSearch, since Rapidshare is an online file hosting company?
The term does get a lot of exact searches though...

Aside from TR problems, this is actually quite a good name, because rapidshare searches can be incredibly useful. Hard to valuate though. But could turnout to be a decent name (but of course it has a TM)

I've started developing it a little. Almost instantly after putting something on the domain, it started getting about 200 hits a day of type-in traffic. It didn't even get ranked by google for quite a while. Last time I checked I was #11 for the term "Rapidshare Search" with a nearly no backlinks. The most popular site for keywords is rapidshare-search-engine.com and they have been around for years without issue.

You should check in depth regarding possible Tm issues, as the problem could arise at any time, and of course it will impact on the value of your domain. Plus if you are earning off the domain, you are entering into more liabilities if there is a problem.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but wouldn't RapidShare be hesitant to aggressively pursue TM issues...for obvious reasons?

Rapidshare is full of TM content so if they come after you be sure to point that out to them. You could market the site to Content/TM holders to search for their stuff on Rapidshare with a link to contact Rapidshare to have their stuff removed.

Good points Domainance and Tippy. Maybe a war would increase traffic even more.
