The "Cheapest Place to Buy" Thread

I had this idea a few days ago after creating several topics asking NPers where I could find the cheapest place to buy a variety of .TLDs.

I figured we should make a unified topic. I'm more than ready to foot the responsibility of updating this initial post with up-to-date info I find and that is contributed by NP members. It may take me up to 48 hours to update it, although I visit NP often so it will most likely be updated with new info presented (posted here or PMed to me) earlier than 48 hours.

This topic is (as of posting) in its infancy stage, so please be patient with the info and contribute as much as you can!

My initial idea is three sections, cheapest price to reg, cheapest price to transfer, and a list of the registrars with free whois privacy. This can be expanded as more information comes to include sections such as cheapest bulk pricing, cheapest renewal, etc. It all depends on what info NPers give to the thread! Note: For cheapest registration rates with coupon codes, please visit the registrars' specific assigned coupon reporting threads. So here goes:

Cheapest TLDs without coupon codes:
.com - Star.RegisterBird.com - $7.98 USD
.org - Name.com - $7.49 USD
.net - Moniker.com - $6.64 USD
.biz - Star.RegisterBird.com - $7.98 USD
.name - Star.RegisterBird.com - $7.98 USD
.eu - Star.RegisterBird.com - $13.98 USD
.info - GoDaddy.com - $0.89 USD
.mobi - GoDaddy.com - $7.99 USD
.us - GoDaddy.com - $4.99 USD
.in - Name.com - $3.99 USD
.co.in - Name.com - $3.99 USD
.gen.in - Name.com - $3.99 USD
.firm.in - Name.com - $3.99 USD
.net.in - Name.com - $3.99 USD
.org.in - Name.com - $3.99 USD
.im - Name.com - $4.99 USD

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Nice topic, but I think "Cheapest TLDs WITH Coupon Codes" would be more useful.

Thanks,

I had that thought as well, but then I changed it because then registrars could come to one convenient location to wipe out their coupon codes, instead of having to find all the threads and sift through that.

If someone can ease my wories about this issue, I will be happy to add it, as I do believe it's a great idea.

If one registrar wipes out their coupon code, then another could simply instate that very coupon code and steal tons of domainer business.

Fact of the matter is, registrars wouldn't create coupon codes in the first place if they didn't walk folks to apply them.

At any rate, you could register .com/.net/.org domains for $3.99/year at DomainsAreFree.com (Glob@t), but I've heard terrible stories about them.

Thanks.. But next time please include the actual price.

That is a good point JoshuaPz. However, both companies could just keep regular prices and force domainers to pay their prices with no alternatives....

DomainsAreFree.com does seem fairly suspicious, I would be so of any company offering prices so low under their actual price.

After submitting this post I will add a coupon section, but I am still weary for the aforementioned reasons..

Search each registrar's page..

You do not need a verified paypal to use paypal, just need money in there.

Actually, I don't think it matters if you are verified, but if you do not have a credit card attached to your account even if you have a balance, Godaddy will not accept your purchase. I'm not sure why, as for example Namecheap accepts the Paypal even without a cc attached.

I know this as a while ago my credit card had expired without my knowledge and i was wondering why I couldn't perform a reg.
