The layout of the site is contolled via the smarty template engine. It is very easy to edit, all files are named header.tpl, footer.tpl, leftmenu.tpl, etc.

The background color has to be changed from the template .css file. It is very easy to do, you simply change a line of code. So basically you can have your own template ?,
Im familiar with Joomla,Wp templates. does it work the same ?
