There were a few big and proud domain investors in China once only sticking to .com and now start to buy .top too and like doing so. I have taken a few screenshots of the Wechat moment and made translation: You know how popular .top is? I went to China.vc to buy tens of thousands CNY of...

Is .TOP Going to be next gTLD Hit or Flop?

Ok, now we are talking Chinese censorship, good. First, I admit Chinese internet environment sucks. The speed is super slow and we can't visit some foreign websites without using VPN. A few years ago, when I was young :D, I still hated it. But now, I feel different, below are what I truly feel...

Is .TOP Going to be next gTLD Hit or Flop?

Whether it's .top or .bottom or .sthyoucantunderstand, as long as it's widely used and recognized, the meaning actually becomes meaningless. Anyone cared what .com meant when they wanted to build a website 20 years ago? Do domainers chatting in NP really care if it's called namepros.com or...

opinion New gTLD cheat sheet

Yes, and I always agree with this: flowers are flowers, no matter they are lilies, jasmine, roses, peonies or other. TLDs are like phone numbers, you can dial through regardless it starts with 917 or 918, and in most cases, the number is saved as a contact with a name, like a bookmark in...

Big Chinese .com investors are pissed with West.cn

West.cn, with three times of newgTLD registration volume of Godaddy, has been seeing crazy increase on their newG registration and trading business. Because more attention and money are shifted to newgTLDs from the original domain market, some "old" .com investors are getting very unhappy, in...

discuss LLLL.top on Peak

Although you will definitely find buyers from Ename or West.cn, but minus the transfer fee, there isn't much profit left. Many Chinese domainers buy this type without considering too much about the meaning, just dealing in bulk first and then hold and slowly extract the meanings and reach out to...

The truth about Chinese Premiums...

Acronyms of Chinese phrases are not so different from that of English. There are also Pinyin starts with a vowel, but only limited to a, e and o(no pinyin begins with i, u, or v), for example: "ai" for love, "er zi" for son and "ou zhou" for Europe. But such words are much fewer than the...

question .top VS .xyz - Which of those 2 TLDs will stay on top before this year (2016) ends?

Guess .xyz will pull off a free campaign again when they feel they are losing the #1, so it will take time for .top to be top. But one good thing i see from .top is that it seems they insist on not giving free ones, quite confident comparing to .xyz

question .top VS .xyz - Which of those 2 TLDs will stay on top before this year (2016) ends?

What's with your temper, man? Read carefully, I said it's "one of". Not every website user is a domainer, like most people here, knowing there are a thousand TLDs to choose from for building a website with. It's common sense that more registrations mean wider awareness. Take a look at...

Best extensions?

Why do such threads keep coming out? Around 200 million domains are registered, with millions of websites built, most of which are .com, .net(for obvious reasons), and undeniably the country code and new extensions are taking up their shares in the industry too. Come on grownups. Do you...

The truth about Chinese Premiums...

Reason: self consolation and attention diversion When the number 4 is inevitable, most Chinese would turn to the other meaning of it: 4 reads "fa" as a musical note, and the word "发(fa)" means "get rich". And there are similar mentality like this, i.e: When a porcelain plate or bowl falls and...

Is .TOP Going to be next gTLD Hit or Flop?

.top is not alone, change /top for any other pop new gtld and you will see. Strange websites like this are as inevitable with cheap domains as there are normal and nice websites in every TLD.
