it was an off year for growing vegetables where I live. Winning cabbage at this year's Alaska State Fair weighed a mere 92.3 pounds (grown by a 10 year old). Last year's cabbage was a record-setting 138.25 pounds. Lots of other monstrous veggies, 15 pound carrot, 50 pound celery, 1000+ pound...- Points: 8

The Anchorage Zoo had to evacuate visitors this afternoon when a wild bear wandered in. Oops . . . Turns out they spotted the bear before they opened and stayed closed until it left.
