agreed as atleat just by seeing an ipad4 ad atleast it have created a brand consciousness in your mind and advertiser got benefited , so even if people don't click much , banner ads are here to stay.

the best banner option size is 336*280 because the text links are so big. Put adsense ads just at a place whihc comes in the eye sight when your website first opens up in front of users without scrolling down.

it all depends upon lot of factors like quality of visitors , number of visitors. If you want to get a fair idea and you don't want to use buysellads which will eat your 25% then go to buysellds and search banner in your niche. This will give you a fair idea of your website rates.

Creating a mini site, can I just use old html?

the only problem you will face with old HTML is lack of design options , otherwise no problem will come from Google bot, it crawls them easily until and unless there is a lot of flash attached with it.

A few days of no AdSense clicks on any site after AdSense is put on another site

this may be due to their watchdog policies, due to which they watch new domain impressions for invalid cliks and adjust them accordingly. i may be wrong.

this time they have officially written it on the blog, earlier it was mentioned in their TOS. But guys think of in this way , how will you feel when someone else will churn out revenue of your content without linking you back. I think its a nice move by adsense
