If anything, the events in the last few weeks defies everything we thought knew about domaining. So we cannot apply conventional domaining knowledge on the Chinese dragon. It would be wrong to write off something just because of a lack of understanding. This could be a bubble or a tectonic plate...

On the China forums, there is still a strong perception that .org are not meant for commercial use. But the consensus agrees that .biz is for commercial use. I can also see that there are way more chinese domain influencers that are pushing for biz rather than org. Let's see what happens when/if...

Time to invest .xyz

I don't know why ppl are bashing the potential of xyz here. If there is a new extension that has the biggest potential, it looks like it's going to be xyz. Don't take my word for it, just look at the numbers. You can't expect a 1 year old extension to be priced comparably to .com in the after...

discuss On my email daily comes spam from .xyz sites. On your email comes too?

All this talk about spam on a particular extension except dotcom is just weird. Because most of the spam I get in my many email address end with .com. That includes the junk offering web services pounding my inbox every time I register a new domain.

Chinese are starting to target niches now in 5Ls. For example ddh stands for pawn shop. So in the last week all the city+ddh (e.g. bjddh) were snapped up. Things are happening really fast.

What you mentioned remind me of the Adam Dicker episode... when he was at godaddy and going up against customers in auction. GD then recognized the issue of customer confidence and took decisive action.
