Loads of money is needed to make the years of experience in domain names count. That million dollar sale comes only after someone with loads of money either invested lots in top names or invested wholesale long back and could afford to keep renewing them.
I have the perfect acronym for one of my vocations:
Geographic Information Systems Resources Integrator(s)
GISRI / gisri dot com.
Perhaps one day, in a not so distant future, when I have sufficient resources, I will also setup a:
G I S Research Institute.
PS: the name also has my nickname...
Interesting and insightful article.
My single most important criterion was and is a name I would want to use for a project, either on my own or as a joint venture.
Domaining is addictive—it gives you the high of riding the crest of a vision. At one point in my domaining endeavours, I had...
The websites relying on publishing of original content and advertisements based on viewership, should force membership, free or otherwise, so no one, including AI systems, scrape their content, dishing out to zero-click searches.
Great tool.
It would be nicer if you could throw in some data that you already gathered and used in the valuation.
In addition to several domain names I evaluated, I also tried a name with two variations of letter case - "TV Logs" v/s "T Vlogs" - your evaluator added a note about the...

EV (TopupEV dot com & TopupEV dot in for a directory)
ESG (esgsop...

No regrets - I still don't find a reason to transfer out anywhere from NameSilo.
Features include (but not limited to):
very competitive pricing with bulk discounts, and...
Thank you Bob for this interesting information about the Mastodon federated microblogging network.
Reminded me of a FOSS that was popular more than a decade back. Mastodon's features (from its Wikipedia page) almost read like those of "StatusNet" of yore. The federation part and the platform...
Half of the buying request threads here quote 5% or 10% of "GoDaddy appraisal," and that too if it was over $5K, and "nn" number of extensions taken to top it.
Estibot clearly states that their automated appraisal is "unbiased, statistically derived" and offer a manual appraisal too for the...
Happy New Year to you too.
Our Hindu new year (we call it Ugaadi) is on 13th April this year (varies around that date every year). There are several calendars in India, some with new year in Spring, and some with new year in Autumn.
