Thank You. As a follow up, say widget is patented and widget.com is used by the company to market the product. If I register, say whitewidgets.com and redwidgets.com, etc...to sell the product, would that be a TM violation?

I know that there is technically unlimited liability in any situation, but if you register a trademarked domain, what can they really claim as damage beyond just giving them the domain in question back? So if you register something, is your risk greater than the registration fee?
