Parked Domains v Minisites

Overall I've had more luck with Minisites using Adsense. It would be great if YPN were better targeted but as it is right now the YPN CTR is horrible. Minisites are also better for SE traffic in general. If you have a premium adsense feed there is no comparison that minisites are better...

Common mistakes for NOOBs

For Noob domainers I'd say the most common mistake is regging a bunch of domains that they consider "brandable". A "brandable" domain available to reg in todays market is generally what most consider crap. Even if there is something there "brandable" domains probably have the least liquidity...
