Is Domaining basically one giant pyramid scheme?

This domaining game is a game of patience. Patience cannot be stressed enough to new people starting out in the industry. If you buy a good name at a good price patience will eventually reward your investment. I think people get discouraged at low-ball offers because they wrongly interpret it...

new gtlds New gTLDs are DEAD!! Frank Schilling drops 230,000 new gTLD domains

History has a tremendous way of repeating itself. When it comes to nGTLD's one needs to only look back to the early 2000's when .biz, .mobi, .info among others came out and failed miserably. This is a repeat of that but on a much larger scale. Some people just never learn unfortunately.

I had an offer recently at my min price. Within 30 minutes of the price request I give the broker my BIN and Floor, he thanks me and then .... nothing. No reach out to the buyer, it's been 72 hours. There are really strange things going on at Afternic, almost as if they are forcing people into...

Check your Afternic landers. Multiple domains not loading or loading extremely slow on both mobile and desktop. Removing and readding domains to Afternic does not solve the issue. This will certainly affect sales for many of us going forward.

Let me add that late night ganja and booze fests lead to waking up the next day next to a not so attractive female and domain name. Friends don't let friends drunkenly buy or backorder shitty domain names. ;)

Couldn't agree more with op. If your business takes off on .whatever eventually you WILL need to acquire the .com. The amount of traffic bleed over to the .com will demand it. Pretty cut and dry if you ask me.

Why are sales so slow?

My 2016 has been the exact opposite, slow start, terrific last few weeks. Impossible to judge the state of the industry when we only get to see ~25% of the actual sales taking place. If Afternic/GoDaddy and private sales were made public I doubt we would be having this discussion. As for the...
