No problem registering a free one with Moniker... I already had an account with them.....

Registration pending now for 3 hours with the other registrar. Had to make a new account there. Wonder what is going on??

Mine registration is pending with both registrat for about 4 hours now.

I had some problems, too.

But I wrote a email to [email protected] and [email protected]. and they solved the problem very fast.

Please dont forget your customer id and domain in the email.

Thank you. I just registered my free .shop at Moniker, I just contacted them under getsupport at moniker.com because the registration was pending for a while. My account needed verification.
For dd24 where I had an account for several years it was no issue. I think this happens with new accounts only.

Butt.shop took only a minute on moniker under existing account.
Slider.shop - had to sign-up with dd24. Still "payment pending". Awaiting their verification - still early in Germany.

For those who have their domains still pending, check your spam for an email verification email. Your domain reg can only be validated after you've verified your email address. As soon as I verified mine, my free .shop domain went from "pending" to "active".

Got a reply from the support staff.

No risk to do these actions?

I will not waste my time on this, here's why.

The most valuable names are already taken or are premium priced.

Registrations only last a year and this new gtld is still virtually unknown to end users, so the chance you will sell one in the year you have before you pay full reg price is near zero, so...

It is not worth the time and effort to try one name after another to find one still left to reg that has some value.

This is just a gimmick by the registry to pump up their numbers and maybe trap some people into auto renewing these domains to make a few bucks.

Don't fall for it, you will waste time trying to find a decent name still available and it is not worth it, even if it is free.
