Vegas.Club has sold for $100,000 under the .Club Start Up initiative program. Michael Berkens tweeted that Right Of The Dot brokered the deal.

Here is the press release:

VEGAS.CLUB SOLD FOR $100,000 & SET TO LAUNCH AS MEMBERS-ONLY SITE FOR DEALS, CONCIERGE SERVICES, VIP TREATMENT & MORE

Partnership Formed to Bring Another High-Value .CLUB Premium Name Business to Market

LAS VEGAS, NV and FORT LAUDERDALE, FL– January 13, 2015 – .CLUB Domains and One Degree World Systems, Inc. announced today the sale of the domain Vegas.CLUB for $100,000, as well as the formation of a partnership to launch and operate the Vegas.CLUB website as a destination membership club. The site will launch in the second quarter of 2015 and will offer a variety of membership tiers with varying degrees of service levels, including members-only deals on nightclubs, hotels, shows, attractions and tours as well as concierge services, VIP status at local attractions, and white glove services like personal assistants on the ground, butler and nanny services and more.

At the helm of the partnership is One Degree World’s CEO Howard Lefkowitz, a travel and tourism pioneer, who built VEGAS.com into the largest city site in the world.

“Being in a club is about having exclusivity, connections and personal service,” said Lefkowitz. “It’s how you get into the hottest clubs without waiting in line, get the best seats to a show and the chef’s s table in the top restaurants, how you get that special present for a loved one and have the waiter bring it to the table and how to get that document printed, signed and overnighted to its destination. Being in a members-only club opens lots of doors and ensures an experience of a lifetime with no extra effort.”

Lefkowitz announced the Vegas.CLUB partnership during a keynote presentation at the NamesCon conference currently underway at The Tropicana Las Vegas. The RightOfTheDot consultancy also assisted in putting together the deal.

“We’re incredibly excited and privileged to partner with Howard on Vegas.CLUB and participate in its success, because his track record in travel, tourism and entertainment is unmatched, and quite frankly nobody knows the city and its assets better than he does,” said Colin Campbell, president and CEO of .CLUB Domains. “Vegas.CLUB will be geared to those people who want to really take advantage of the city and everything it has to offer and will truly be a great showpiece of how the right domain can add tremendous marketing value.”

.CLUB Domains set records in 2014 for the highest new domain name sales to date, and recently sold Coffee.Club in November, also for $100,000. .CLUB is responsible for 60 percent of Sedo’s 2014 top ten for new domain aftermarket sales and is the #1 selling new top-level domain (gTLD) on the Internet today, having sold more than 160,000 new web addresses since its launch in May 2014.

"Vegas.Club has sold for $100,000 under the .Club Start Up initiative program"

So not a straight up purchase but on a payment plan like the other $100,000 sale?

You read my mind, I just posted the same thing on another thread.

Not sure why these types even get press? It only benefits the registry...

That's one of the hallmarks of new gtld program - to cut the middleman (us) out.

Everyone involved in pumping these fraud extensions are scammers. Period. And that includes any and all forums who take advertising from any of these clowns. I ran off a bunch of scammers through the years at various forums. They are all frauds. The downfall of forums was when they let these losers peddle their wares on the forums as they scammed newcomers for a few years.

Phony sales. Scam sales. Sell to friends and get the sale listed at Dn Journal. Work a scam with a business like Overstock.com ( the .co scam). It never ends. People need to go to prison, and not just bankruptcy court. Any and all people who get in involved in these extensions at all, are the lowest of the low on the human scale. Much like penny stock pump and dumpers. Real lowlifes. Even many the so-called "Domain Legends" turned out to be the biggest shysters domaining has ever seen. They may go to prison for tax fraud if they keep it up. People are watching. Sometimes people need to step in and take a stand. A nice prison stint would be a wake up call for some. Through the years, lots of scam sales were listed at leading domain news sites. This drew in others who got scammed. A friend would sell to a friend. Those were fraud sales and taxes were never paid on those sales (since they didn't happen). So, it is fraud one way or the other. Not a single one of these fraudsters was called out by the sites who allowed it to happen.

Audit time for those who continue to pump this stuff. There are hotline numbers that all can call.

Audit time...Fraud... Shysters...Lowlifes...lol. Relax. Wine.club was a cash purchase (assuming it goes thru.) by an actual bidder on the sales floor. I'm not a fan huge fan of the NewG's but I wrote about the .club sales on my blog. They in fact did quite well imho during the NamesCon auction - Weed.club was purchased by Andrew Rosener of Media Options.. a guy mainly known for pushing .COM on his newsletter. I was there watching it. I've never seen him pump up New gTLDs, anywhere. Oh and no.. .Club does not sponsor NameTalent nor am even remotely invested in .club (I reg'd 1, maybe 2 names, I'd have to double check haha). Business is business.

Compassion.Club appears to be available for $1,725 plus $14.99 renewal. Seems that could be of value to the right Michigander or other medical marijuana developer.

It was fun watching the auction and live tweeting from home, but Whew! It was a long one. Toward the end, we found ourselves nodding off to the constant hum of the auctioneer. Did they end up keeping the bar open?

@atypical, to answer you question, no. Lol! One minute the bar was open and the room was still jammed packed, and when I turned around next, the bar was gone, and so were a lot of people. But that didn't stop those who actually came to buy. It was great!

I responded to a post on DomainInvesting.com and the Coffee.Club owner Bill Mclure responded with this

"a part of the original deal with .Club was their commitment to spend a million dollars or three in promoting me and a few other clubs."

So yes Coffee.Club did sell for 100 grand and Vegas.Club sold for 100 grand but its smoke and mirrors. They make it look like they are getting 100 grand for the name and then split the payments over 10 years then give it back to the owner in a form of marketing cost.

So how much did these domains really sell for? Next to nothing. They gave these names away basically for free and that is why the payment was split for 10 years. They are trading the name for promotion of the string and they are going to back the marketing cost in trade for a successful business owner with a good track record. It's a no-brainer for someone getting into the Startup.Club concept. You come to us with a proven track record and show that you can be successful with our domain and we will pay the marketing cost because it promotes are string.

Successful companies on these strings is what will win new customers and get the string in front of the consumers eyes. Win Win for everybody.

WineClub.com sits parked, I am sure if you offered them $100K they would take it, and run.

It is amazing they sold Wine.Club for $140K, anyone know who the buyer is?

They invest quite a bit into marijuana domains, and they have a site built out, so they probably thought they would try it out, they have a very successful brokerage business.
