Good catch and thanks for the heads up - just be mindful they might take it back off you (from registry t&c)

A lot of good ones have been registered for years so it looks like this is some kind of reopening of the ccTld.

Now they only allows domains from 2 characters and up but only 4 one character domains are "available": 0.ly, 2.ly, 6.ly and o.ly.

i reserved poker.ly and paid for it on september 15th 2006. thats probably why it is still shown as available. here is the order confirmation i got back then

Funky, I have the domain too. Guess it's not registered then. As it turns out I'm not very interested in the domain, can't really be used anyway. Talking to them now about cancelling the reservation. If you mean you've reserved the domain you should contact them.

i was watching this.... most of the good names were registered though. Libya spider shows poker.ly as available still.

I registered sex.org.ly and paid using CC yesterday. Then i wrote them an email to ask why the domain name is still available for others to register? They said it was rejected by nic.ly and suggested me to register another domain or requested refund (send them 2checkout order number).

I think if you register Poker.ly, you can ask refund from them. Hope this helps!!!

I've had this problem once or twice with other registrars.
SUCKS! Why can't they just put "Not available to register" instead
of wasting a lot of people's time.Either that or put up a list of banned
names/words.

Has anyone else noticed the number of South Koreans and Germans who have registered domains? All the 2/3 character domains I checked were all registered to people from these two countries...

I think that the .ly TLD should still be considered a high-risk extension in view of its checkered past (not to mention the odd form of government).

It looks like the whole thing is not real time at all, actually you get the login credentials for your domain direct from the registry (they seem to have the final say and be the ones that approve/decline the domain registration).

Hello all who is interested in .ly,

This is Hadi from Libya.

.ly used to be managed out of Libya, but I can assure that it is stable now. For those who registered some domain name and rejected, I wonder why they didn't read the policy first, anyway the one who is annoyed about why not doing a banned list, I agree and this will be done soon.
