sales Weekly Sales Trends and Patterns - Sedo 9/29 Edition

Spaceship Spaceship
This post will delve into the Sedo weekly sales report that was released on September 29, 2015 to take a deeper look into certain themes and trends that many invest in on NamePros.

The top sale for the week was actually a .de and not a .com: Pionier.de sold for 19,500 Euros or $21,879 USD.

.TV had five sales on the board with the top sale being odd.tv for $10,000. Also, .Fr and .Ch placed five each on the charts. There were 58 ccTLD sales in total.

Numerics

Numeric domains had a big showing this week. The top sale shows that you just never know - it comprised the three numbers that most people do not want - 47000.com sold for $11,000. There were even 7-number .com's (7N.com for short) domain names selling for four figures this week, and not all of them were about the number 8. We saw names with repeating 2's and 6's sell, as well. Interestingly, there were 7n.com selling for more than 5n.com this week.

82630.com 1,000 USD
7266666.com 977 USD

4-Letter .com

The most popular category for the majority of domain investors is 4L.com. Certainly, it is where the average investor can get involved and mix it up.

The talk over the last week has been that 4L.com without neither a vowel nor V is somewhere in the $1,200 to $1,300. NamePros member @gladdy has been posting and tweeting about Buy-It-Now pricing below $2,000 for the last week. There were a lot of bargains this week for those who believe in a base price of $1,200 to $1,300. There were 70 four-letter .com sales. There were many Chinese premiums at sub $1,000 pricing: 44 to be exact. Some of the nice ones were xffb.com and cjjn.com.

You will also notice a few triple repeating names this week: tRRR.com, ZZZr.com, FFFe.com, EEEh.com, and RRRu.com. Elliot Silver of DomainInvest.com (@EJS) tweeted that he recently purchased SSSn.com and pRRR.com.

Brandables

The brandables tend to be of three categories: two-word names like SuperSeats.com, made-up pronounceables (M.U.P.S.) like Oboco or Google, and modified keyword names by adding a suffix or prefix like Cloudaco or by adding an extra letter like Fiverr.

The two-word names were led by YouConnect.com at $20,000; LoanCircle.com at $6,589; and TechBaby.com at $2,299. Some These are some great buys in my opinion.

On the M.U.P. side, some might notice Elivio.com, which is also a first name. These names can work for brands, and a perfect example is Lynda.com. Yazun.com sold for $3,500. Fingy.com for $1,999. Vensero.com for $950. Rejuvo.com sold at $3,100. Plenarius.com sold for $2,695, which isn't an actual M.U.P. as it does have a meaning as a Latin word, but many may not be familiar with the word and think it is a M.U.P.

Translations of Plenarius into English:
  • absolute (noun, adjv)
  • entire (advb, adjv)
  • full (verb, noun, adjv)
  • having full power
  • plenary (adjv)
On the modified side: Lawly.com sold for $3,495. Then we have a name like Removee.com selling for $1,000 by adding an extra e to "remove." EXbet.com sold at $2,920. Dazeys.com for $2,100. Grabbies.com for $2,499, and my favorite Unimedia.com sold for $11,224.

Best Buys

In my opinion, these were the best buys of the week:

techbaby.com 2,299 USD
zzzr.com 2,200 USD
LM.tv 2,000 USD
