I think english verbs have more potential actually. Although they may speak these languages in Montenegro, most of the value in .me is the fact that it means 'me' in English, by far the dominant language of the internet. Semantically 'contar.me' means nothing ('tell' in Spanish)whereas tell.me is fairly obviously valuable (and i believe someone on these forums owns it?)

Perhaps this would work for .co domains, but in Montenegro, the native langauge is Montenegrin (an off-shoot of Serbo-Croatian, the national language of the former Yugoslavia).

Serbian and Croatian have the same language roots, but different alphabets (Serbian, Cyrillic; Croatian, Roman). There are some linguistic differences, more so since the breakup of Yugoslavia.

I don't know about the future of .me as a social meme ccTLD, but I do think it's more likely to gain success in the English language than in any other language.

I attend many meetings for startup tech companies around the world. I have seen an overwhelming amount of Spanish and Portuguese speaking nationalities registering .me(s).

I must say .me goes very well with Spanish and Portuguese names. I have even attended Italian conferences where .me(s) are gaining popularity. It actually goes well with dutch as well I have talked to a few business startups that are "considering" .me for their business in holland.

My theory is this that I have come across. I believe the people who have spent their hard earned cash on useless tlds like .co .mobi and .whatever have been beaten so down that they have the same attitude towards .me.

Gareth there verbs like flertme writeme driveme in spanish that are written exactly the same. Instead they are written reportame legalizame etc. For example legalizar is the verb to legalize. Now in imperative command form (tu) would be legaliza.me or legalize me. Do some research. The same goes with every verb.

would you tell us why?

I work for a company that sends me to different places to market our software product. As far as why they are choosing .me I really don't know. I am thinking it's because all valuable .com(s) are taken and they are all being either used or sat on. So these new startups are going with .me(s).

Just yesterday I was talking to an Italian client and they were looking at .me name to register for their business.

I agree with kristiws and Ms domainer...the reason being simple, as all the keyword rich .coms are already taken and even if you want them for a new start up you need to pay huge amount for it.

.me goes well with english words..and jingle very well with adjectives, especially verbs which makes them easier to remember. At the same time they are available at cheaper prices as compared to the .coms

For spanish language most of words are similar to those in english. So they are also picking up importance in the market.

I believe as time goes on .me will gain more value.
Hope they will make some big sales in future.

You may well have a point kristiws. I hadn't considered that the spanish for me is, well, 'me'. In that case, yeah I'm willing to believe that.
