My thoughts exactly. In fact, it's the first thing that came into my mind when I saw the title of the thread. There are just so many great keywords they didn't release to the public.
Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking outside the box :) These are some great portfolios, most of which contain names I was trying for, but mTLD is the KING!

I like the way you think...dont forget to mention the gps capabilities of mobile devices...

Tesler aka "Mobiline.info" should definitely be on that top list. Though his resale prices are very high (always mid-5 figures whenever I inquire), he has lots of great ones.

as far as me & my portfolio of 2500 domains ("In Stealth Mode" aka "DomainAgency.com")... I will graciously bow out of the top list. My portfolio is based on development potential and not resale value (many brandables):

i.e.:

Waterfront.mobi
while the term may not mean something to most people, google results show:
33,000,000 results but most importantly those results are from many different locations around the world, easily 50+ from the US alone. While the domain itself is worthless to many, I bought it in the aftermarket from another NPer (win/win deal) and will pour substantial funding into it to produce local information guides for natives and tourists. In my area alone, major development is going on in the Washington DC & a few few hours away at the Philadelphia waterfront areas with hotels, restaurants, concerts, nightlife, living/office space and elsewhere in the US: resorts, casinos, etc... I'll spend most of 2007 (ongoing) looking for local partners and more funding but it is a project I will enjoy working on for the next 5 years. While the domain may alone be worth a few hundred dollars, or thousands to the right end-user... it is priceless to me.

Similarly, another NP'er aftermarket purchase was:
Boardwalk.mobi
If you check out google, you'll see the same development potential for Boardwalk.mobi ranging from the Atlantic City Boardwalk to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk to Boardwalk destinations across the US: venice Beach, Virginia Beach, many in New Jersey, Ocean City MD, etc...

Then there's:
Monorail.mobi
Hoping to provide local info, ticketing, hub info, etc for various locations. Ranging from the famous Las Vegas Monorail system, the Seattle Monorail and even as far as the Sydney Australia monorail.

While it will take some time to develop them, I'll always be on the lookout for local partners, plus other domainers looking to co-develop for a revenue/equity stake, etc... but each one of the domains is begging to be developed and most certainly can be a valuable resource for mobile users. And as I've stated before each site will also be optimized for PC users with a variant landing page.

But I'm not only focused on Local Guides, I do have other domains that I will develop as Social networks and info sources:
Campus.mobi (social, events, schedules, local savings, etc)
Wanted.mobi (craigslist meets ebay meets... I'll explain later)
HUB.mobi (social, portal, etc)
Invites.mobi (self-explanatory)
AnyWhere.mobi (in stealth mode)
Single.mobi [/B](dating/social, events, location-based w/ gps, etc)
- I just acquired Single.mobi after Christmas.

and several commerce/retail plays:
FARE.mobi (mobile ticketing, lowest price alerts, sales, etc.)
DEALER.mobi (think Car Dealers not Blackjack Dealer) :)
PASS.mobi (Mastercard owns PayPass.mobi, I have something in mind for this one)
WorldWide.mobi (in stealth mode)
- I just acquired WorldWide.mobi after Christmas too.
PriceGuide.mobi, JoyRide.mobi, Curbside.mobi, etc...

plus
mobile game ventures: multiplayer games, skill games, brain games, entertainment services, other services: messaging, info, search, etc. i.e. DomainManager.mobi

I believe in MTLD/.mobi and it's revenue and development potential. As I mentioned before:

- even if the .mobi aftermarket crashes
- if MTLD's original mission fails
- if .mobi doesn't become default extension
- if what all the .mobi haters and naysayers say comes true...

it won't affect me. I'll still thrive and have a great network of developed sites (my own ecosystem) for mobile users and pc users to visit... I'm building sites that I want to use and I'm sure there's a handful of others out there that will enjoy the sites too. And if the IPHONE and other devices really make .mobi's original standards (streamlined sites) obsolete, I'll just press a button and allow mobile devices to view my full PC sites... but I'll still keep the streamlined sites around for low-bandwidth, simple-data-plan users and people like me that want simplicity. But what if the .mobi haters are wrong... what if .mobi becomes the default extension for mobile devices, or gains massive consumer awareness, or the aftermarket stabilizes... then I'll be even busier than I can imagine. ;)

and just in case the haters think I'm a .mobi fanatic - we have major development already underway on our .com domain portfolio and we're using our own custom software (CMS) and streamlining it for .mobi development. We are hardcore developers, in fact we plan to be at a major technology expo in April 2007 showcasing some new projects. I'm hoping but doubtful that we'll have any fully functional .mobis ready by then. Don't want to introduce something incomplete, but we'll be there showcasing at least 2 new "social" sites (.coms).

good luck to all .mobi owners, developers & resellers.

I really agree with the way you think! I will also devellop some really premium .mobi's like

LiveScores.mobi
Football.mobi (will be Dutch: Voetbal - Voetbal.nl sold for 7 figures!!!!!)
Cinema.mobi (will be Dutch: Bioscoop)
TVguide.mobi (will be Dutch: TVgids)

These are all superrrrrrr premium; this will be 'brands', also if the TLD doesnt succeeds...

PS good luck to you MrRhee...

I think Joy Antony and Jeremy should be moved up higher than they are right now. Quality over quantity. Maybe the list should show the top 20 or 25 portfolios, 12 is such an odd number.

Top 10 makes more sense (and is more common). Out of curiosity, what are the TOP 10 in your opinion, considering you think Joy Antony and Jeremy should be moved up higher?

Upon brief review ... Portfolio #5 with both Lasher and Egnited as Honorable Mentions™ with their 3-letter dealios, IMHO. :yell:

Have fun!

I'd don't think a top 20 would be so bad, :td: I may have a slight chance for that - http://www.namepros.com/1705164-post21.html

Some very nice names and portfolios. Congrats to those holders. Don't forget us early fellow mobi supporters here at NP, as you sit on your 300 foot yachts, decorate your 50,000 sq ft mansions, drive around in your Rolls Royces etc.
Maybe toss out a name now and then for us to scrap for!! :hehe: GL to all!

I could definitely use the charity. :'( But I don't expect something for nothing, I'll be the housekeeper, driver, and sailor for any of these portfolio holders! :cy:

How did all these guys get top to register names such as call.mobi, flowers.mobi, etc. Did they just have the quickest hands? Could any of us got these? Were they registered at normal registrar such as godaddy.

I got most of my good names during landrush period and then aftermarket purchases from the people who were luckier than me.
